What is the difference between Rec Cheer Clubs and Elite Cheer Clubs?

  • The biggest difference is the governing bodies over the clubs. Rec cheer clubs is governed by USA Cheer while Elite Cheer clubs is governed by the U.S Allstar Federation (USASF)

  • Other differences include:

    • USASF requires a membership fee from all athletes in Elite Cheer Clubs whereas USA Cheer does not.​

    • The age groupings are different. The Rec Cheer age grid has larger age groupings allowing teams to be more inclusive.

Do Rec Cheer Clubs still Compete?

Yes, Rec Cheer teams do compete and at the same competitions as Elite Cheer Clubs. Rec Cheer also follows the same rules and level requirements.Even though we are in the Rec Division, we are still an all-star cheerleading team.

As a new program, we want to make sure there is a space for every child that walks through our doors regardless of age or skill. The age groups in Rec Cheer allows us to be as inclusive as possible. But, as we grow, we will transition into being an Elite Club.
