Hello everyone! Thank you so much for showing interest in Pride! My name is Kayla Sanders, and I am 26 years old. I have a son named Jhalil, and I was born and raised here in Durham, NC. The thing know about me is that cheerleading is my life! I have 17 years of personal experience cheering, both in all-star and school teams, from middle school through college (Go Charlotte Forty-Niners!). As a coach, I have been coaching since I was 19, working with school cheer and all-star teams. Cheerleading is so important to me because it has always been my safe place, the one place I truly belonged! It taught me many life lessons and is the sole reason I am the confident adult I am today. As a coach, my number one goal is to always create the same kind of space for every child I encounter. That is why I created Pride—a space all about teaching confidence and being a place where you be yourself!
